The Role

As we navigate our path to growth, we're introducing the role of Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to the team. The goal? Make projects smoother, get teams collaborating better, and keep everything transparent. We're on the lookout for someone experienced to lead the way and ensure our key initiatives are a success.

This role is a pivotal role for us at Causeway as we're two years into a transformation, moving from acquisitions to putting it all together. We're after someone with at least five years of hands-on experience running a PMO, dealing with transformation teams and managing a portfolio of change projects.

We're on the lookout for an experienced PMO Manager who can jump in and collaborate with other project teams. As the PMO Manager, you're not just about processes - you're the go-to person to ensure projects run like clockwork. You'll collaborate closely with all parts of the organisation and report to the Head of IT.

Your job is to set up and ensure we stick to project management rules, bringing in best practices. Partner up with key players to keep projects on track, within budget, and aligned to our goals.

Responsibilities

Establish and lead the PMO function:

  • Set up the PMO function, including working with the Head of IT and functional leaders to define its structure, processes, and responsibilities.
  • Lead the on-going monitoring and review of portfolios for impact on current business activities and the strategic benefits to be realised. Implements portfolio governance arrangements and effective reporting.

Establish portfolio management practices:

  • Define and implement a portfolio management framework, setting the parameters for the prioritisation of resources and the changes to be implemented.
  • Lead the on-going monitoring and review of portfolios for impact on current business activities and benefits realisation.
  • Report on portfolio-related activities.

Develop project management methodologies:

  • Design and implement project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools to standardise project delivery processes and promote consistency.

Define and enforce project management standards:

  • Establish project management standards, including governance frameworks, risk management processes, and reporting mechanisms. Provide guidance on and establish processes for project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

Provide project oversight and guidance:

  • Oversee the progress and performance of company-level strategic projects, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives, and provide guidance to project managers and teams.

Implement project tracking and reporting:

  • Develop and maintain project tracking systems & tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to provide accurate and timely project status updates and risk management strategies to stakeholders.

Foster cross-functional collaboration:

  • Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and coordination among project teams, functional leaders, and executive stakeholders to encourage transparency and drive successful project outcomes.

Continuously improve PMO processes:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the PMO and drive initiatives to enhance project management practices and efficiencies.

Stay updated on industry best practices:

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in project management to continuously improve the PMO's practices and capabilities.

Deliver Projects:

  • Personally support relevant projects as the Project Manager for the CEO's office, as per the needs of the business.

The essentials we need from you:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in portfolio and project management, preferably in a technology or software development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering strategic, high impact, high risk projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, including the delivery of transformation projects and the commercial management of projects.
  • Experience in setting up and leading a PMO or similar function is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience of using Project & PPM software is beneficial.

Desirable skills:

  • Ideally, possess a qualification or training in Project Management.
