Are you ready to kick-start your career in finance? We're looking for a dynamic Trainee Financial Accountant to become an integral part of our exceptional team in Cirencester. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the SJPAS Financial Reporting team, playing a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting. Your contributions will directly influence the external Group Report and Accounts, showcasing our financial position to the world.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting the SJPAS Financial Reporting team with various tasks
  • Preparing essential working papers
  • Posting financial journals
  • Supporting intercompany settlements
  • Reconciling adviser income and processing payments
  • Helping prepare management accounts
  • Processing operational payments and payrolls
  • Compiling finance controls
  • Assisting in the preparation and tagging of statutory accounts
  • Preparing materials for SJPAS entity Business Partnering meetings
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects and investigations

Who we're looking for:

  • This role would suit individuals who have already embarked on an accountancy qualification such as AAT or ACCA
  • Experience in financial accountancy within financial services (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of accounting processes
  • Good knowledge of statutory accounting
  • Critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to seeking guidance
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Effective time management and organisational abilities
