Furniture Village are hiring for a Home Design Consultant - MAT Cover (12 months). You will join us on a full-time, contract basis and in return receive a competitive salary of up to £34,250, and with commission an average earning of £45,000.

About the role:
Your main purpose is to provide our customers with an unrivalled shopping experience, sell furniture and maximise your targets! You will achieve this through demonstrating the Furniture Village qualities and being a champion of our Company values.
We believe that a well-designed home is essential for living a fulfilled and comfortable life. We are looking for a creative and customer-focused Home Design Consultant to join our dynamic team in the South East region. The Home Design Consultant plays a vital role in helping customers realise their vision for their home. The position involves working closely with customers to build a strong rapport, offering design advice to create beautiful home designs and bring their visions to life. Working together with Sales Consultants to build your customer base, you'll work with the customer along their journey from their initial idea conception to final product selection. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interior design, a keen eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key responsibilities as our Home Design Consultant:
- Customer Focus: Engaging with customers to understand their design needs, preferences and budget. Conduct in-depth consultations to provide personalised design plans. As well as upselling and cross-selling products to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Performance Related: Ability to work in a performance-related environment where targets are driven each month.
- Product Recommendations: Recommending furniture and décor based on the customer's style and needs. Showcase the benefits and features of products to drive sales and to keep up to date with the latest product offerings and trends.
- Design Proposals: Creating detailed design proposals, including mood boards, colour schemes and product layouts. Use design software and tools to present concepts to customers.
- Collaboration: Working closely with store staff and management to ensure an exceptional service for our customers. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team environment.
What we're looking for in our ideal Home Design Consultant:
- Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for interior design.
- Passionate about home decor and design.
- Detail-orientated with strong organisational skills as well as, attention to detail - this is crucial when taking measurements in customer's homes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of space planning with the ability to translate room layout ideas using computer software.
- Knowledge of the current interior trends and understanding of products.
- Punctual and professional, ability to work independently and as part of the team.
The role will require visiting customers at their homes for style appointments therefore, our ideal candidate needs to be willing to travel and has a full UK driving licence!
