Your Opportunity This role offers an exciting chance to lead and manage the IT operations within a dynamic and growing organisation. As the IT Operations Manager, you will oversee the IT support function, ensure the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure, and manage critical projects. This is a pivotal role that will enhance productivity, efficiency, and system integration across the organisation.
How You Will Make a Difference In this role, you will play a crucial part in the smooth functioning of our IT operations, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of our technology use. Your involvement in M&A and post-merger integration will be instrumental in driving the business forward. By strategically managing IT projects, optimising systems, and ensuring data is utilised effectively, you will support the wider team and enhance the overall performance of the organisation.
You Will
- Manage the IT support function, including managing a team of 3 support engineers and the helpdesk system.
- Oversee the delivery of technology projects, coordinating with suppliers and the senior management team.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and system integration.
- Implement a regime for continuous improvement of data quality.
- Manage the IT budget and monitor costs.
- Oversee change management and associated project management.
- Manage licenses, domains, and other recurring services.
- Continuously assess and manage security.
- Ensure the continuous operation of our backup and maintenance systems, updating and testing our disaster recovery plan.
- Oversee and, for some applications, execute patches and updates.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills required
- A strong technical grounding and experience working with a range of vendors.
- Experience managing small teams of IT engineers and handling IT budgets.
- A good affinity for working with stakeholders and workstream leads.
- Knowledgeable in Agile and ITIL version 3 processes.
- A sound understanding of the MS Office 365 suite.
- Experience with practice management, document management, CRM, and CMS systems is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with MS Azure, virtual desktops, and security & compliance fundamentals.
- Experience working in a firm of accountants or professional services is beneficial but not essential.
