About the Role: Are you an experienced production planner with strong scheduling skills? Do you thrive in working within a busy production environment? Are you looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a Production Scheduler to join our operations team based in Hereford. The role is office based but may be required in an FMCG labour intensive factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. As a member of the Planning team, you will have to be comfortable in a fast moving, high volume, and frequently changing environment. Core Hours - 0800-1630 Mon- Fri, Cover Hours - 0430 - 1330 / 1330 - 2230 Monday - Friday - Depending on Cover
What will you be doing as Production Scheduler Cover at Avara? As a Production Scheduler Cover, you'll be responsible for the scheduling of production lines and the materials required for product assembly and providing holiday / absence cover for team on shift.
What will your key responsibilities as Production Scheduler Cover include?- Create and maintain daily planning schedules.
- Co-operate with production to ensure on time delivery of our customers' orders.
- Provide the production teams with clear plans, with regular monitoring to ensure accurate production quantities.
- Averting service levels and performance issues by escalating any potential variances
- Optimise the use of production systems within own control, ensuring birds are selected to the correct weight, bands, and grades in order to plan the smooth flow of birds through the production process.
- Provide handover reports when necessary to maintain performance.
What you'll need to be successful:- A logical thinker with proven numerical, analytical and evaluation skills
- High standard of IT Skills and advanced excel knowledge.
- GCSE's (or equivalent) in Math's and English
- Proven communication skills with the ability to focus on the right priorities.
- Ability to solve problems proactively and an effective decision maker.
