Assistant Warehouse Manager

As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will support the Warehouse Manager to ensure the operation runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. This will include overseeing stock coming in, putting away new stock, replenishment, returns, stock control, picking and logistics teams.

About THE ROLE

Responsibilities include:

  • You will have a strong presence throughout the warehouse area ensuring that all stock is received, picked, packed, and delivered in accordance with our store delivery schedule, and standard operating procedures and the warehouse housekeeping is maintained to a high level.
  • You will lead specific projects to help make improvements to the warehouse and logistics processes and systems, working collaboratively with a variety of Support Office and Retail teams.
  • Evaluate workloads across warehouse departments daily to ensure that resources are deployed to the right areas based on business priorities.
  • Review KPIs daily to monitor warehouse and logistics performance, follow-up, when necessary, with the Warehouse Manager
  • Build relationships with any third-party suppliers to ensure we receive the highest levels of service.
  • Carryout checks across all departments to ensure processes are being followed correctly in the absence of the Warehouse Manager, oversee the team and be the main point of contact for the business.
  • Assist with ad-hoc admin duties within the warehouse and support in other departments as needed.
  • Involvement in project work and advice to make improvements to efficiencies and service levels.
  • Carryout compliance and health and safety checks when required, seeking advice from the Health & Safety team.
  • Lead the weekly team briefings and brief teams on any new initiatives and rollouts, maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Recognize your team for a job well-done and celebrate team wins together.
  • You will work closely with Team Leaders to coach and develop them to ensure they lead, motivate, and manage their teams effectively. Ensuring that progress chats with individual Team members are delivered to maximize training opportunities, address concerns, and contribute to Team Member and Team Leader growth and leadership development.
  • Instill high housekeeping standards and hold team members accountable to maintain these.

About YOU

  • You'll have a previous track record of leading and exceeding in a warehouse environment.
  • You'll be an effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with ease.
  • You'll be a team player who recognizes and celebrates the contributions and achievements of others.
  • You'll be confident in giving feedback that promotes positive behavioral change.
  • You will be energetic and authentic showing a clear presence on the Warehouse floor.
  • Knowledge of stock control systems, preferably FIORI, Store Force and RFID.
  • You'll have strong people management skills with the ability to resolve conflict and unproductive disagreements and be confident and assertive in decision making & problem solving.
  • You will work well with change, being able to quickly adapt and work with pace.
  • You will have the ability to identify problems and trends and take own initiative and provide and implement solutions with guidance.
