Since then we have continually grown and developed our Archive to support our company and safeguard our history and heritage for the future. About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to apply for the position of Archives Assistant at the Diageo Archive. Our Archive is valued as a unique asset for all employees and functions across the business. From sparking brand passion, sharing brand stories and insights and influencing marketing narratives and activations, to inspiring new product development, new packaging design, as well as protecting brand trademarks and identities, building our corporate reputation and promoting our heritage. Our collections contain a broad range of materials for our Company, our brands and our sites, both physical and digital, from 18th century ledgers to the most recent annual reports, historical documents and records, advertising and other marketing materials, bottles and other packaging materials, and photographs and films. These unique collections bring the history of our Company, brands, sites and people to life. Working in our Archive you will be responsible for providing a world class service to all Diageo users. The nature of the work will be varied, involving cataloguing, answering enquiries, promotion of the service, digitisation and cataloguing analogue and digital records. You will be a graduate and about to begin or interested in pursuing a career in archives, having either recently completed or intending to continue your studies on one of the post-graduate archive/records management courses. The position will run for one year leading up to the start of the 2025/26 Academic year. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their archives skills in a supportive environment. Full training will be given in all aspects of the role. To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Preferably educated to Masters degree in a related discipline
  • Attention to detail is a key quality
  • A proven track record in research
  • IT proficient including digital technology
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own
  • Display evidence of pursuing a professional career in Archives
  • Display strong communication and people skills
  • A commitment to completing the 12 month internship
  • Knowledge/interest in Diageo and our brands or a similar corporate organisation
