Job Responsibility:
The Oxford University Hospitals NHS trust is looking to appoint a Matron to work within the Cardiology department in the Heart centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital for a year long secondment. You will work in a clinically led partnership with the Divisional Nurse, Clinical Director and Operational Service Manager to shape and deliver the ambitions of the service, as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team. The Matron is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day running across the directorate, delivering key quality, performance, and financial plans, service improvements within the Clinical Directorate, line managing designated staff and reporting to the Clinical Director. Your role as the Cardiology Matron will be to provide leadership, support, and motivation to our high performing team, using critical thinking in clinical decision making to maintain a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff. You will join an enthusiastic team, who will work together to ensure that nursing, in conjunction with other aspects of clinical care, are delivered to the highest standard, and in line with the local and national strategy. We will recruit a Matron who is highly skilled, motivated, proactive and has proven clinical and people management skills. We encourage ambition, strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a passion for promoting and delivering high-quality care as part of a large MDT. The Matron is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the Clinical Directorate, delivering key quality, performance, and financial plans, achieving key service improvements within the Clinical Directorate and line managing designated staff. The post holder will provide professional and management leadership to all nursing staff in the Clinical Directorate in order to achieve the Trust's corporate objectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to the delivery of health care across the local health community.
