The Role
Are you an experienced, operationally effective and commercially minded Employee Relations professional?
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Employee Relations Manager to join our People team. This is a pivotal role responsible for providing expert advice and support across our ship and shore-based operations. You will be instrumental in shaping and continuously improving our employee relations service, mitigating risk, and driving a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
As an Employee Relations (ER) Manager, you will:
- Provide expert ER advice and support to managers on a range of complex employee relations issues.
- Lead the management of disciplinary, grievance, performance and other ER processes.
- Represent the company in employment tribunals and ACAS proceedings.
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
- Lead and develop a high-performing ER team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive positive change.
You will:
To succeed in this role, you will possess strong ER expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, coupled with a strong team focus and engaging management style. You will be service focused with commercial acumen and a passion for delivering exceptional employee experiences.
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK07 and is offered on a full time, permanent basis, with hybrid working in our Southampton office, including up to two days from home.
About You
Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you'll also need:
- Sound knowledge of UK Employment Law and evidence of successfully interpreting and understanding its application in ER case management and organisational change.
- Senior Stakeholder Management up to and including Executive level.
- Ability to weigh risk and provide evidence base options appraisal.
- Experience of managing Employment Tribunal cases and case management discussions with ACAS and coordination of associated activities
- It is desirable to possess a sound knowledge of Maritime Labour Law.
We recognise the value in having people with a variety of backgrounds, experience and skills in our business. That means the role requirements here should be seen as a guide, not a checklist. If you have more, less or different experiences, but really relevant skills, we'd love to hear from you.
We work flexibly and will help you to find a healthy balance of remote working and time in our fantastic Southampton office, collaborating, taking part in events and getting to know people that makes working with us so rewarding. We welcome the opportunity to discuss reduced hours and job share arrangements. Being part of our team has its advantages…
