Working within the Security Office on University Park this role will provide the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors responding to a large number of general security related enquiries both face to face and by telephone on a daily basis. Main duties will include providing information and advice regarding the University car parking regulations, issuing car parking permits. You will also issue University access cards and keys and be responsible for lost property.

The successful candidate will be required to design and maintain security databases, update websites and prepare statistics for monthly reviews. You will also provide administrative support to Senior Security Managers including typing letters and reports, produce purchase orders and will update office procedures as required.

Candidates should have relevant vocational qualifications NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or have substantial work experience gained within a clerical/administration role and have excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work including the maintenance and updating of confidential records. You should also have excellent typing skills and have an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products in particular Microsoft Word, Access and Excel. Experience of working in a fast paced customer facing environment is also essential for this post.

This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full time 36.25 hours per week, worked mainly Monday to Friday between 7.45am and 4.00pm. Flexibility will be required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
