Reporting to our CFO, you'll lead our efforts to convert vast data into strategic insights, creating high-quality reports and refining automated processes. A peek into your daily adventures:: Business Intelligence & Analysis
  • Maintaining and improving business intelligence solutions, including the data warehouses, relational databases, Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Designing & implementing innovative approaches to solving business problems.
Data Strategy & Governance
  • Building and delivering upon the existing data strategy ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Establishing data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Leading and mentoring a small team of Data / BI engineers ensuring they are effectively motivated and managed. Currently based in Newport/Remote.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including most departments; namely, Buying, Merchandising, Finance, Retail & People with their data needs and providing tailored BI solutions. Essentially being there to help any team leverage data in a meaningful and efficient way.
Automation & Development
  • Driving the data prioritisation list - building on existing bespoke platforms / web applications (ASP.NET) to support key business areas in improving efficiencies and manual processes.
  • Supporting the business in improving internal processes, adding real value through time saving initiatives & highlighting issues early.
  • Leading integrations from external software / APIs into JoJo infrastructure.
Technology Management
  • Ensuring the scalability and reliability of data systems and infrastructure.
  • Staying current with emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and BI.

This model has enabled us to leverage the operational efficiencies of Next, primarily through logistics and technology hosting, while enabling growth through access to the Next customer base. Skills that make you shine::
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a data and BI management role (essential), preferably within the retail sector.
  • Strong proficiency in data management tools e.g., SQL, ETL processes, and BI platforms e.g., Power BI (essential).
  • Experience with data governance and data quality management (essential).
  • Experience with ERP systems e.g., Microsoft Navision, SAP (desirable).
  • Excellent analytical and problem finding/solving skills.
  • Creative and analytical mind, skilled in using data to inform decisions.
  • Enthusiastic about supporting growth and gaining an understanding of how real issues translate into data driven insights.
  • Detail is key, able to translate complex data into actionable and easy to understand reporting.
  • Proficiency in building effective relationships and collaborating across all levels.
  • Comfortable picking up new processes or emerging processes.
  • Empathetic and inclusive team management competence.
  • Ability to create and present high-quality documentation and management information via multiple platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Initiative-taker with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Able to work autonomously in a changing environment.
  • Passion for the retail industry and an understanding of the baby and kids clothing market (desirable).
  • Able to own personal workload effectively.
