THE GRANGE SURGERY JOB TITLE: General Practice Medical Secretary REPORTS TO: Practice Manager/Deputy Practice Manager ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAIN DUTIES/KEY TASKS Full secretarial duties for the practice and the clinical team Possess excellent knowledge of the referral booking systems and referral processes. Dealing with telephone calls promptly, cheerfully and in a professional manner at all times. Logging onto the phone system to help each morning and at busy times Data entry regarding patient contacts on computer whether by phone or letter Keeping up to date with changes Booking appointments on cross-organisational slots Accurately recording telephone conversations and patient data Action and logging of e-mails incoming and outgoing, urgent and non urgent OTHER DUTIES Liaise with members of the Primary Health Care Team Liaise with other agencies Social Services etc Sorting out hospital appointments The above list is not all inclusive and we would expect that appointed personnel would offer their services and train to acquire the appropriate knowledge to cover in time of sickness / holidays etc. and would work at all times using their initiative.
