We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Sales Team as a Sales Planning Specialist to support the UK&I Sales Teams in creating, maintaining and driving adoption for statistically generated base rate of sale for a complex group of customer / product combinations. You will act as the subject matter expert for the Demand Forecast Module (DFM), and work to build capability and best practice adoption across the Sales Account Manager community and within the Sales Planning Analyst Team, working closely with the Sales Knowledge & Training Team.
A day in the life of a Sales Planning Specialist ... Reporting to the Sales Planning Analyst Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Proactive, independent management of the customer baseline forecasting across a complex category portfolio of products - exploring and leveraging the data we have to advance our statistical baseline forecast adoption.
- Support & challenge any out of cycle (OOC) baseline changes - possessing the confidence and skillset to comfortably challenge and negotiate change with our Sales community - working to deep-dive and root cause the need for OOC Base Changes.
- Make modelling recommendations to determine the best method for the customer - developing a strong understanding of the category and customer needs to make informed decisions.
- Recommend GUI interface and functional improvements with Visualfabriq - exploring technology and toolsets available to enable continuous improvement within the Sales Team.
- Maximise the overall usage of EPOS/Sell Out Data in baseline planning through working to increase the sellout customer data available in Visualfabriq
- Drive capability across the Sales Team - shaping and delivery of training, supporting through clinics and workshops and ownership of new starter inductions to build speed to competency in DFM & Customer Baseline Management.
- Ensuring documentation and user guides are in place to sustain our service and equip our Sales Team to execute processes seamlessly.
- Project Management & System Developments Ownership - owning the exploration, testing, scoping and deployment of new releases and developments in Visualfabriq
What will make you successful? You will have proven experience of working in the Commercial /Supply Chain Function in an FMCG environment and also have a thorough understanding of Sales Planning and Monthly Business planning processes.
A good communicator with strong analytical skills, you will be motivated to be part of a team, build great relationships within the team and with stakeholders, be open to how we can continuously improve as a team, and be the best!
Other key skills and experiences we're looking for include:
- Proactive attitude / a self-starter
- Naturally curious, crucial that you are able to take the initiative when faced with any obstacle
- Makes good use of insightful information and is naturally analytical
- Expert in Excel and comfortable using other Microsoft Office programs, and beneficial to have used Power BI or MS Access
- Great attention to detail
- Organised and adept at prioritising workloads
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and decisively to deliver high levels of customer service to internal business partners
- Ability to effectively communicate DFM results to business partners who have no or limited knowledge in the tool
- Strong people and coaching skills
