Based at: North Bridge Depot, Doncaster Salary details: Grade 6, £23,885 - £24,693 (Pay award pending)Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Closing date: 20th August 2024 The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation which puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. You have a opportunity to be part of this in the role of Assistant Play Equipment Fitter. To be part of a multi-disciplinary team who carry out installation, repairs and maintenance to play equipment throughout the borough in line with current Health and Safety legislation. Duties and Responsibilities Core responsibilities and duties will include:
- To carry out, where relevant, all work in compliance with manufacturer's instructions working to EN 1176 & 1177.
- To work outside in all weathers and undertake tasks allocated appropriate to seasonal working arrangements and any emergency call-out situation.
- To carry out the maintenance/repair and installation of children's play equipment including setting out from manufacturer's drawings/designs and to inspect play equipment in line with ROSPA and RPI guidelines as required.
- To work safely at height using the appropriate available equipment and report any occurrences/conditions to the line manager that are considered to be unsafe including activities, accidents, hazards, vehicles, machinery and equipment defects.
- To provide professional, technical and support as required.
Specialist Skills and Knowledge Essential skills, knowledge and experience required to fulfil the role include, but are not limited to:
- Craft or Engineer qualification including welding, stainless steel. Also to undertake further training to RoSPA Play Equipment Maintenance and Inspection.
- To be competent at craft/engineer level in the use of small tools and plant such as pressure washers, cement mixers, generators, abrasive wheel, welders and hand tools.
- Commitment to providing high standards of customer care.
- Full driving licence.
- Use of IT systems
