Do you have the leadership and experience to programme across two of the region's premier performance venues, the Regent Theatre and the Corn Exchange?
Between them they host more than 200 different performances each year, everything from West End musicals to the biggest names in pop, rock and comedy.
An exciting opportunity
The Grade II Listed Regent Theatre is the largest theatre in East Anglia with seating for 1551 people. It presents an engaging programme of concerts, gigs, West End musicals, comedy, and an annual traditional family pantomime.
The historic Corn Exchange is part of Ipswich's impressive Town Hall and when used as a theatre has adaptable seating for 800. The venue presents a very wide variety of events, with everything from concerts and conferences to wrestling and darts.
This position is a key to our success and plays a crucial part in programming across both venues and operationally managing our internal finance and ticketing functions.
We pride ourselves on delivering a great customer experience, whether front of house or backstage and we get to work with some of the UK's biggest promoters and producers. The programme is varied, fast paced and challenging but we have a great industry reputation as we head towards the Regents centenary and developing the programme at the Corn Exchange after considerable investment.
The senior management team is small but perfectly formed, and this role plays a crucial part in driving our objectives and delivering great nights out for our valued customers.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone with a passion for theatre and the performing arts combined with great organisational skills to develop our programming and lead on internal finance and ticketing operations. You'll also have input into our marketing strategy and ensure we have the best resources in place to bring customers into our venues.
We already have great relationships with the majority of UK promoters and producers and if you are already in a programming environment, are commercially aware and looking for the next step, we want to hear from you!
You will need strong team leadership skills and have an eye for detail. This role includes finance management of shows across both venues, so you'll need to be able to demonstrate prudent, financial control. You'll also look after our ticketing operation so an analytical mindset to support our marketing operations is vital. Analysis of data is really useful as it will drive our future development and help us make the right, informed decisions. You will also need to be able to manage working shift patterns for the wider team with a high level of PC and IT competency. Communication is key to this role, whether with external partners or internal, combined with a high level of industry knowledge.
- Someone creative and proactive, with a great work ethic and the ability to deliver results in a fast-moving arts environment.
- A degree or a minimum of 12 months working in a similar working environment within a theatre or venue operation is essential.
- You will be required to work a shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
As well as a good salary, we offer:
- a career average pension scheme
- generous holiday and sick pay entitlements
- subsidised parking for work and leisure
- public transport discounts
- free swimming and gym membership
- cycle purchase scheme
- plenty of personal and professional development opportunities
- flexible working, hybrid working opportunities,
- Employee Assistance Programme
- the opportunity to work with great colleagues.
