Role Overview As a Release Manager at VoCoVo, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end release process of our cloud & on-premise releases, ensuring they are prioritised, planned and delivered efficiently and with minimal disruption to business operations. To succeed in this role, you will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with multiple areas of the business, particularly Product, QA, Development and Customer Service to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of releases.
Requirements for Release Manager
- Knowledge and experience of managing cloud and on-premises technologies and releases
- Experience working with GitHub & Jira is desirable
- Experience in release management or change management
- Experience working in an agile development environment, preferably in a technology-focused organisation.
- Excellent communicator and stakeholder management skills
- You are adaptable, pragmatic and enjoy solving problems
- Work effectively in a dynamic environment
- You are self motivated, proactive and accountable
- A certification in Change Management is a plus.
Responsibilities as Release Manager
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the release schedule, ensuring the successful and efficient delivery of releases into the production environment.
- Assess the impact, risk, and benefits of proposed deployments. Ensure releases are effectively documented, communicated, and executed with minimal disruption.
- Act as the daily point of contact for release management across delivery teams, leading the release by setting direction and priorities, and resolving conflicts
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline, ensuring efficient and timely release of software changes while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with industry best practices.
- Liaise with our technical partners to ensure coordination of any third party releases into our environment.
- Chair the Change Advisory Board meetings ensuring that sound planning decisions are made and necessary approvals have been obtained and acting as key decision maker where required.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all releases and changes. Provide regular reports to management on release and change activities, metrics, and performance.
- Communicate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure clarity on release objectives, timelines, and outcomes. Facilitate post-release reviews and feedback sessions.
- Address any issues that arise during the release process and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve them promptly.
- Develop, implement, and refine release and change management processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Ensure that all changes and releases are aligned with customer needs and expectations.
Salary Salary range: £55,000 - £60,000 per year
