Reporting to the SVP, Chief Technology Officer, the VP, GP&T Strategy, Transformation & Portfolio Management Office (STPMO) will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and taking ownership of key cross functional strategies for GP&T (GSK Global Products and Technology) as well as GSK Digital & Tech. You will also look to develop, build and govern multi-year transformation programmes for GP&T to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving Tech world.

In this highly visible role you will also have ownership and accountability of Digital and Tech's portfolio of Merger, Acquisitions and Divestment programmes. As well as look to drive efficiencies across business operations and obtaining clear on-going command/control over core processes (financial and governance)

Key Responsibilities in Detail

STRATEGY

  • Accountable to define, communicate and deliver the GP&T Strategy that will underpin the overall Digital and Tech Strategy; from Front Line Services through to the full technical infrastructure stack of Hosting and into leading edge Enterprise Data & Analytics platforms. Key interaction and building strategic stakeholder relationships with all other BU Tech Leads, R&D, Global Supply chain and commercial and medical. As well as with the underpinning functions of Cyber Security Office and Global Risk and Compliance. An important relationship is with the Office of the CDTO to ensure alignment across all areas of Digital and Tech.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT

  • To lead and drive all cross functional GP&T programmes, reducing risks and assuring successful outcome delivery. These programmes are often Tech or Enterprise wide, so require frequent engagement with senior stakeholders and tight dependency management.

AGILE DELIVERY

  • Accountable for leading, scaling and managing agile delivery across the GP&T organisation, with a focus on setting up and facilitating agile release trains, continuously improving agile ways of working, and embedding DevOps tooling and practise both within GP&T, and across the Digital & Tech organisation.

MERGERS, ACQUISITIONS & DIVESTMENTS

  • Lead/deliver the Digital and Tech MA&D portfolio with oversight of other Tech groups to help drive efficient end to end Tech integration, to support GSK's advancing business model.

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT OFFICE

  • Running a Value and Agile driven PMO organisation including governance, planning, reporting, change control, quality, risk management and key performance indicators. Drive effective business value driven decision-making, accountability and oversight across the portfolio of projects/programmes along with embedding robust standards and developing/maturing the portfolio through performance management and continuous improvement.

CONTRACTUAL & FINANCE OPERATIONS

  • Define, deliver and govern all business services across GP&T for approximately 1000 employees, £250 million in vendor contracts with an overall budget of £381 million.

DESIGN & UX

  • Lead and grow understanding of user centred design across GP&T, leading a team of designers who can collaborate with products and projects to embed design principles, ensure employee experience focus and conduct user research.

CHIEF OF STAFF

  • Act as the Chief of Staff for the CTO, defining and leading leadership team meetings, acting as second in command, leading on special projects and defining the objectives and measures for the team.

COLLABORATION

  • Build and maintain relationships in and outside of Digital & Tech with key stakeholders, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Office of the CDTO and all other Tech LT members as well as senior leadership across the business; just as imperative to also collaborate with external partners.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & CULTURE

  • Define, lead and drive cultural initiatives across GP&T, leading the culture and engagement programme and ensuring everyone in the organisation can thrive and bring their best selves to work. Direct management of ~80 employees. Establish clear accountabilities and objectives for direct reports, stretch and coach to maximize performance and potential.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Degree in Business and Information Technology or related discipline
  • Experience of driving large sourcing programme delivery and product delivery across multiple geographies
  • Experience of building relationships, agreeing and holding external service partners to account
  • Strong experience of managing Cx level stakeholders including Chief Group Controller as well as Partner level in external audit organisations.
  • Leadership across a complexed matrixed environment
  • Leadership of large global diverse teams and cultures
  • Operating in a highly pressurised and business critical environment
