Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin's attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term basis. The role will be based at either our London or Poole office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.
Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for IFRS and a knack for navigating the complexities of a global financial landscape? We are looking for an IFRS Accounting Specialist who excels in external financial reporting for large, multi-currency groups and thrives in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
Your expertise in auditing, UK statutory reporting, and project management will be key as you coordinate with teams worldwide, offering crucial advice on technical matters. You will have the confidence to challenge accounting judgments and the skills to drive a robust controls and governance environment. Your proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with large-scale financial consolidation systems will set you apart in this pivotal role.

#LI-SB1 #LI-Hybrid Qualifications & Experience:
- Fully-Qualified Accountant with strong IFRS knowledge and post-qualification experience
- Experience of auditing / reporting in large multi-currency Groups
- Experience of external financial reporting in the form of listed company annual reports or similar; experience in UK statutory reporting
- Good project management and communication skills, written and verbal, and used to working across a geographically and culturally diverse Group
- Able to work in a complex matrixed environment, having to coordinate and advise teams from around the globe on technical matters.
- Comfortable challenging accounting judgements taken by the business
- Experience of driving a controls and governance environment
- Strong user of Microsoft Excel, ideally with experience of using Excel alongside a large scale financial consolidation system
