On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Procurement Manager (Events Industry) for a 7 Month contract. Hybrid working (1 or 2 days per week in Waterloo or Milton Keynes, the remainder WFH) Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain's railway. As a Procurement Manager (Events Industry), your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead on procurements of varying complexity, sometimes against tight timelines in line with Public Procurement Regulations. Interacting with the relevant business areas (or ALB's) on progress and requirements.
  • Provide clear and concise commercial advice to seniors and external stakeholders, when required.
  • Take personal responsibility; challenge and hold stakeholders to account, create an environment that acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement.
  • Advise and undertake Contract Management activities.
  • Assist with the implementation and embedding of supplier relationship management and Contract Management processes in the department.
  • Manage consistent commercial policies and procurement processes across the Department in line with Managing Public Money, supporting with policy and process improvements; input to and follow the governance/assurance protocols for procurements.

Essential:
  • Educated to degree level or a professional procurement certification.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience of running procurements through CCS frameworks
  • Understanding of and ability to apply UK procurement legislation as it applies to central government departments
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage a busy workload with competing priorities;
  • Contract and supplier management.
  • Proven successful experience in managing events in a large organisation
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle competing demands
  • Evidence of using creativity to engage different audience groups
  • Evidence of good planning and financial skills, with the ability to deliver projects and activities on time and within budget
  • Experience of managing agency support
Desirable:
  • MCIPS/CIPS or equivalent
  • Use of Atamis e-procurement System
  • Knowledge of the new public procurement act 2023
