MAIS delivers a broad range of investment solutions, from bespoke cross-asset portfolios to pooled vehicles, all designed to meet our clients' diverse needs and objectives. This position is within the expanding Managed & Model Solutions team, focusing on managing risk-based portfolios in the MyFolio range. abrdn is an equal opportunity employer. About the role As the Investment Manager you will get the opportunity to work within a growing team and contribute towards the management of multi-asset fund of funds, within a team-oriented portfolio management team. Experience within strategic asset allocation, manager selection & portfolio construction would be advantageous, in conjunction with an in-depth knowledge of the end-to-end process involved in managing Fund of Fund portfolios. You will also get the opportunity to provide operational support and, in time, assume client facing responsibilities. The role requires a good understanding of a broad range of asset classes, strong analytical ability, a team-oriented approach, and strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of coding, especially in VBA and Python would be an additional advantage. You will be responsible for constructing and managing multi-asset, fund of fund investment portfolios, including strategic asset allocation, tactical asset allocation and selecting appropriate funds. In addition, the role will provide operational support in the management of these portfolios. Key Responsibilities Portfolio management: Contribute towards meeting client needs and expectations through the application of the abrdn MyFolio investment approach and philosophy. Participate in the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) process to ensure portfolios stay within stated mandate objectives and are optimally positioned to deliver the best expected returns for the given level of risk. Client and Stakeholder Communication: Provide updates to clients and stakeholders on portfolio performance and strategy adjustments. ESG Integration and Reporting: Support the integration of ESG considerations into the investment decision-making process where appropriate. Monitor portfolio holdings for compliance with the sustainable funds' ESG criteria and assist in reporting on ESG metrics. Operational Support: Prepare trade instructions and work closely with the trade implementation team to ensure smooth execution of investment strategies. Risk management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal investment guidelines. About the candidate requirements
- Experienced in investment management, with a focus on fund of funds, multi-asset portfolios, or related areas.
- Strong knowledge of multi-asset portfolio management, and a passion for financial markets.
- Proven track-record of successful portfolio construction and fund selection.
- Proficiency in investment research tools and portfolio management software. Morningstar, Style Analytics and Charles River knowledge would be an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field would be beneficial. The CFA or other relevant qualifications would be an advantage.
