The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dog Support Unit and participate in curriculum design, planning, delivery, and evaluation of Police Dog Training, in accordance with legislation, national policing standards, health and safety and Durham Constabulary policy.

What You'll Do

The successful applicant will research, design, and plan a wide spectrum of police dog training for staff and where appropriate other stakeholders in order to meet national standards. You will also source, assess and develop potential police dogs to ensure that they have the necessary qualities and abilities to undertake a basic course.

What You'll Bring

City & Guilds Level III/ A Levels/or BTEC National in a relevant subject or an approved equivalent

NPCC Dog Instructor Qualification

NPCC Detection Dog Instructor Qualification

Level 3 Education and Training Qualification

More than 5 years professional experience

Experience of dog handling, instruction, planning, and preparing training packages
