Job Responsibility:

The Vaccination and Screening Directorate (V&S) is responsible for discharging the NHS public health functions agreement, under which the Secretary of State delegates responsibility to NHS England for certain public health services, known as Section 7A services. These include around 20 immunisation programmes, 11 screening programmes and other services such as child health information services (CHIS), some of which are led Health and Justice national commissioning team.  Working as a multi-disciplinary team, we work across the NHS and wider partners to design and deliver the best possible services. The directorate is collectively responsible for the delivery of our mission statement: To deliver maximum levels of uptake and coverage across the whole population within and between communities, improving health outcomes, avoiding harm, enabling earlier diagnosis and helping people to stay well, leaving no-one behind Please note whilst the advert states the role is based in London other NHSE bases / hybrid working can be considered The post holder will be leading the drafting and production of material: Review, edit and design screening publications (both public and professional facing), supporting effective information around specific screening programme changes, such as eligibility, or intervals Follow approvals processes in line with NHS England policy and keep all stakeholders updated on progress throughout Publish screening publications online and in print Oversee stock management of screening public leaflets Support the restoration and uptake of NHS screening services ensuring core information is easily accessible and understandable to the public Supporting effective information around specific programme changes, such as eligibility, or intervals Providing advice and support to programme managers on key patient information such as consent, targeted materials for patient or population specific groups, as well as internally to inform PQs and director briefings and presentations. Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person. Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band. This role sits within the Insight and Briefing team. This team is responsible for 3 business areas, including public information and publications, national call/recall materials, and briefing and information. As Patient Information Co-ordinator, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service for statutory patient information and professional guidance, with a focus on screening programmes. Working with subject matter experts across the directorate and wider NHS England, they will use their expertise to develop, draft, design, and gain publishing approvals to deliver appropriate and tailored patient information to millions of people across England. They will be required to work closely with the Vaccination and Screening Directorate and central communications teams to ensure a joined up approach. Key responsibilities of this post include: Supporting NHS vaccination and screening services ensuring core public information is easily accessible and understandable to the public Delivering an effective service for all statutory patient information services and professional guidance for screening and vaccination programmes.
