The role As an apprentice at our Headington campus, you will be working alongside the Head of Learning and Development to help support the personal and career development of University staff. The team's learning and development activities are aligned to the University 2035 and underpinning strategies and this role will play an important part in ensuring the excellent administration of the team and the development of e-learning and digital resources. You will work towards the Learning and Development Practitioner (Level 3) Apprenticeship. About the team The Organisational Effectiveness and Development team is a key part of the wider People Directorate and sits alongside the Centre for Academic Enhancement and Development. We work to support and facilitate organisational effectiveness and health. We do this through our learning and development portfolio and through bespoke consultancy interventions at individual, team, department and faculty level. We support organisational change from a people perspective to achieve sustained change through effective engagement and support. The team is headed up by the Director of Organisational Effectiveness and Development and consists of the Head of L&D, Learning and OD Consultant in addition to the L&D Coordinator (Apprenticeship). This is an exciting time as the team embarks on a new chapter, embracing blended learning, and innovating to optimise personal, professional and career development support for University staff. What will I be doing? A fantastic opportunity to put your stamp on a role and contribute to the ongoing development of a relatively new team and help bring a new Personal and Organisational Development strategy to life. You will be:
  • Contributing to the effective and efficient administration of the learning management system
  • Supporting the Head of Learning and Development with the apprenticeship process in particular undertaking the delivering of briefings to line managers and apprentices as necessary and conducting check-in meetings
  • Assisting the Organisational Effectiveness and Development team by using the University's financial software to raise purchase orders and create new suppliers
  • Assisting in identifying learning needs to inform suitable learning interventions aligned to organisational aims and objectives
  • Facilitating and delivering induction and training activities using existing resources to ensure that learners acquire identified knowledge and/or skills
  • Providing general administrative support as required for events.
What skills do I need?
  • You will bring a range of role specific skills and experience, including a good basic knowledge of IT skills with the desire to develop further
  • More generally, we are looking for a motivated, creative problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively and getting things done
  • You are a skilled communicator, with the ability to collaborate with others to create, co-create and curate content
  • You are able to stay motivated and able to identify new opportunities even in difficult situations, and maintain motivation and momentum.
About the location Based at our Headington campus, you'll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from our modern office environment.
