Previous experience of working in a clinical environment is advantageous but not essential. The Out of Hours Service provides essential cover for GP Out of Hours, Minor Injuries and Minor illnesses across Oxford County supporting the Primary Care Services. As a dedicated OOH coordinator, you will be a part of an ever-changing work environment. This role is a full time equivalent of 37.5 hours per week which will be worked across a rota period therefore the hours worked within a single week will vary. You will share the management of a team of Drivers and Receptionists and will contribute to the management and support of the wider OOH service. This role will require you to travel between rural community bases across the county on a daily basis during unsociable hours. You must therefore be comfortable with driving for work purposes and able to travel freely within the hours of the role. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required. You will be responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of the Coordination and Navigation functions in the regions OOH service. You will have line management responsibility for Driver and Receptionists. This will include performance management, time-keeping, sickness/leave monitoring and advance adjustments to the rota where necessary. You will have regular meetings with the Unit Manager, Operational and Service Manager. You will be responsible for patient flow monitoring and will escalate at the earliest opportunity any potential delays in patient treatment. You will have a wide range of situations to utilise your customer care service experience, advanced IT, organisational, training, supervisory, problem-solving and people skills whilst playing a strong role in ensuring and managing workflow and service flow during the operation hours of OOHs and MIUs. You will support the Unit Manager and Operational Manager with opportunities for continuing management and leadership development and in-house training whilst working closely with Clinical Lead colleagues. Please note this post requires working unsocial hours (evenings), weekends and bank holidays. Use of own car is also required as the role involves travelling across Oxfordshire. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010. The post holder will be part on on-call rota covering late shifts and weekends. Shifts: Weekdays 16:00 - 00:00 (with some flexible day shifts available, for example, 09:00-17:00, 10:00-18:00, 11:00 - 19:00 or 12:00-20:00) Weekends and Bank Holiday Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 and 15:30 - 23:30 Enhanced hourly rates will be paid according to NHS rates.
