The Production Planner role is newly created, offering a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the position, establish new processes, and align with our future digitalisation plans.

About the Role:

As a Production Planner/Master Scheduler, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production schedule, driving the efficient and timely production of our products with a focus on exceeding customer expectations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Optimising production schedules to enhance efficiency.
  • Expediting the flow of materials to meet or exceed delivery targets.
  • Understanding machine capabilities and sequencing work to maximise performance.
  • Ensuring the availability of all necessary materials.
  • Communicating the overall production plan and capabilities to all relevant departments to ensure accurate business forecasting and customer expectation management.
  • Conducting demand planning and labour capacity assessments.
  • Coordinating with departments such as production, sales, customer service, purchasing, maintenance & engineering, and financial forecasting.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.

This role demands close collaboration with various departments, allowing you to adapt plans as needed and resolve any scheduling conflicts promptly.

What we are looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above (CIPS/APICS) or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • Previous experience in production or capacity planning, ideally within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Proven experience with complex production scheduling and communication, as you will be the central point of contact between the factory and customers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • A proactive, resilient, adaptable and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing plans and requirements.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, with experience in MRP systems being highly desirable.
