Engineering Compliance Lead About The Role As an Engineering Compliance Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that engineering practices within the UK engineering service comply with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and industry standards. You will be responsible for establishing and overseeing compliance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest standard of engineering practices. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to implement and maintain compliance programs, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement Compliance Strategies: Identify, interpret, and communicate relevant engineering regulations, guidelines, and industry standards to internal teams. Develop and maintain compliance strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with applicable laws and regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance practices are integrated into engineering processes. Compliance Program Management: Establish and maintain compliance programs, including risk assessment, training, auditing, documentation, and reporting. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify gaps or non-conformities and propose corrective actions. Regularly review and update compliance documentation to meet changing regulatory requirements. Training and Awareness: Organize training sessions and workshops to educate engineering staff on compliance requirements. Develop and disseminate informative materials, such as guidelines, procedures, and best practices, to promote compliance awareness. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Legal, and Environmental Health and Safety, to ensure compliance efforts are coordinated and effective. Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to stay updated on compliance requirements and industry trends. Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs and initiatives. Proactively identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to enhance compliance performance. Participate in industry forums and professional development activities to stay current with emerging compliance trends in engineering. Qualifications and Requirements: Engineering or compliance qualification Proven 5 years work experience in engineering compliance management or a similar role. Strong understanding of applicable regulations, guidelines, and standards related to engineering practices. Significant knowledge of UK building statutory compliance requirements and legislation Excellent knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk management principles, and auditing procedures. Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different stakeholders. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in compliance reporting and documentation.
