Job Responsibility:
An exciting opportunity has become available with the Newport Community Mental Health Team based at 6 Goldtops, covering Newport East and Newport West. The receptionist is an integral part of the Community Team who provide initial contact via telephone for patients under secondary care within the community areas of Newport. The receptionist provides initial contact with patients, meeting and greeting those attending Goldtops for clinic appointments on site. The receptionist will work closely with a number of professionals based on site and will be required to signpost queries to the relevant clinician when required. The post holder will organise their workload in order to assist and support secretarial staff with clerical duties involved in the day-to-day running of the team. To locate and track case-notes as required, ensuring that all movements are recorded electronically. To ensure that accurate, complete information is recorded for all patients on the appropriate database. To be the point of contact via telephone from GP surgeries and act on information provided with regard to deceased patients, informing appointment clerks to cancel appointments and to ensure that case notes are updated. To implement/undertake archiving systems for non-current patient health records. To deal with enquiries promptly, informing line manager of any issues. To maintain good effective communication and liaise with other staff, departments and public courteously.
