Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Customs Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the logistics and supply chain processes, ensuring efficient shipping and receiving operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and familiarity with transportation management systems. (3 days in office, 2 days at home)
- Co-ordinate customs clearances for road imports to customers, warehouses and into manufacturing plants in accordance with HMRC, EU, EEA and ROW legal requirements.
- Ensure the company is always aware of, and compliant with, customs clearance legislation and legal requirements in readiness for HMRC audits and any changes in the cross-border landscape.
Customs Administration
- Daily management of import road clearances using the companies main clearance portal.
- Administer clearance documentation with other import carriers who perform own clearances.
- Keep accessible records in readiness for HMRC audits.
- Maintain legal customs compliance via research, training, webinar attendance etc.
- Perform regular Internal Audits.
- Process customs related invoices in the companies invoice management system.
Logistics Team Support
- Assist UK Logistics Team as required in times of sickness or holiday absence.
- Logistics and Inventory Management colleagues, Importing carriers, Customer Services, manufacturing plants, other group companies and third party suppliers.
Required education, professional experiences and skills
- Proven import/export experience, knowledge of customs clearance processes
- Proven relevant work experience in a transport or logistics environment (UK & EU)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP an advantage)
- Good skills in MS Office tools
- Language skills: good knowledge of English (German, Spanish & French an advantage)
