Let us tell you a bit about us

We're Aldermore - the award-winning bank, trusted and highly rated by over a quarter of a million customers for more than a decade. With our range of specialist mortgages, savings accounts and business finance solutions, we're backing more people to go for it.

We thrive by saying “yes” to our customers. We respect the ingenuity of entrepreneurs and their startups; we give first-timers a leg-up onto the property ladder; we open up the lending market to many; and thousands of customers chose Motonovo Finance every week to buy their next car, van or motorbike.

This is where you come in. We are on a journey. A journey defined by a destination; to deliver on our purpose.

Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity

The Asset & Liability Management (ALM) team is responsible for assessing and monitoring Market Risks, as well as Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) for the whole group. The management of these risks is centralised within the Group Treasury function and ALM act as the first line control.

The Senior ALM Manager role is crucial to our operation, particularly in managing Risk. As a Senior Manager you will own some elements of the ALM risk portfolio - eg: the Market Risk or FTP approach. Ownership means oversight of the regular BaU processes and covering where necessary. At a strategic level, you'll own or contribute to ALM policies and procedures, and help set out the long-term roadmap for the area. You'll then assist the development team in the implementation of this across Aldermore's various systems such as QRM (ALM), Anaplan (FP&A) and our custom Pricing application.

What will your day look like?

  • Ownership of an area of the ALM risk portfolio - eg: Market Risk or FTP
  • Oversight of the associated regular BaU processes
  • Be an SME for your area and ALM as a whole across the group for explains, education and engagement
  • Contribute to the annual budget, regular outlooks, ICAAP and other stress testing forecasts
  • Develop and produce monthly MI for ALCo and other relevant committees
  • Work closely with the rest of Treasury as an ALM SME
  • Engage Finance Business Partners, Business Owners and other senior stakeholders (ALCo members, etc) to help them accept and understand how ALM affects them

What do we expect from you

  • A degree in a quantitative subject or substantial experience in Financial Services in a similar role
  • Significant experience within Treasury, ideally ALM, within Financial Services
  • Good understanding of Funds Transfer Pricing, Interest Rates and ALM
  • Strong data, analytic and modelling skills
  • Experience and ability with financial systems, in particular ALM or Treasury Management systems
  • Enjoys and excels at engagement and relationship management with stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel or other data modelling skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in a retail banking organisation
  • Desirable: QRM, Anaplan experience
  • Desirable: Good knowledge of statistics, behavioural modelling
  • Desirable: SQL, Python or other coding

What can you expect from us?

  • A friendly and flexible culture, the same as how we work with our customers.
  • A growing organisation that means there's lots of opportunities to progress
  • A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one.
  • And of course, you will be rewarded competitively, with a good range of core benefits and bonus potential.

We champion equality by supporting the exceptions to the rule and getting finance to where it's needed.

We lend the money people save with us, to people who want to get on in life; build businesses and create employment, buy property for people to live and work in, and purchase vehicles to move families and goods around.
