We are seeking to appoint four Clinical Fellows to our Trauma and Orthopaedic team.
The Clinical Fellow Program that we are offering is an exciting opportunity for trainees interested in pursuing a career in Orthopaedics. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience of clinical orthopaedics surgery at a CT level, and be involved in the orthopaedic on call Rota's.
These posts are suitable for people interested in a future career in Orthopaedics, or a related speciality. Applicants should have completed 2 years of Foundation Training and have experience of working in the NHS. The roles will commence from 6 August 2025, fixed term for 12 months in the first instance until 4th August 2026.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The fellowship is designed on a 60% Clinical (Orthopaedics) and 40% non-clinical commitment with a full time on-call commitment contributing to the CT/SHO nights rota.
You will spend time in a teaching, quality improvement of simulation role during the non-clinical commitment period.
Funding may be available for a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.

We are looking for dynamic individuals who have completed their 2 year Foundation Programme training, or equivalent, and have experience of working in the NHS.

Qualifications
Essential
Full GMC registration with an active licence to practice at time of applying for this role.
Primary Medical Degree.
Desirable
BSc, BA or equivalent with grade 1 or 2:1
MRCS completed or part completed or recognised equivalent.
ALS or ATLS.
Experience
Essential
Minimum of 2 years hospital service at the appropriate level of experience for this role.
Completed 2 years of Foundation Programme Training or equivalent.
Desirable
Teaching of students, junior medical staff and nursing staff.
Previous T&O experience
Experience of working in an NHS hospital.
Experience in the assessment and management of unselected medical emergencies at foundation level.
Experience of acute medical speciality at foundation level
Additional Criteria
Essential
Evidence of participation in audit and Improvement projects locally.
Desirable
Awareness of the importance and relevance of audit.
Undergraduate or postgraduate prizes.
Published work from BSc project.
