About the Role: The Cambridge School of Creative Industries is a thriving multi-disciplinary department, with world-leading research and committed to research-informed teaching. As one of the key disciplines of the school, our Games area delivers three undergraduate courses spanning games art (BA), design (BA) and programming (BSc) and two MA/MSc courses in games development, with several accredited by TIGA. Our curriculum combines specialised training and industry-typical collaboration across subjects, while our students also benefit from our direct links to the wider games industry, who provide live briefs and collaborate in game jams and competitions, e.g., Gamebridge. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Lecturer. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of undergraduate teaching related to the BA (Hons) Computer Games Art course. This role includes the requirement to deliver classes at an educational partner in the People's Republic of China (up to three contiguous weeks per trimester, all expenses covered). As a member of the Games team, you will also contribute to other areas of course delivery, e.g., project supervisions, and module/course development and administration. You will hold a university degree in a games art, visual effects, graphic design or related subject area. The role requires digital art/design skills using current applications such as Maya or ZBrush and experience working with the Unreal game engine. You will be experienced in higher-education teaching and able to facilitate students' learning of a varied skillset required in games art. This role provides the unique opportunity to shape the next generation of games artists in the UK and China and will therefore benefit from prior industry experience and familiarity with current advances in the field.
