Sturrock Comb & Davidson Funeral Directors – Dundee

Full Time

We are an Independent Family Funeral Directors, established in 1890, and now in its fifth generation. We operate from four locations across Dundee.

As well as supporting families in making arrangements, Funeral Directors are responsible for ensuring all the relevant paperwork and documentation is completed accurately, and on time.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is resourceful, organised and methodical with a positive approach to change. They must also be of a smart appearance and be physically fit as heavy lifting will be involved. Flexibility is required from all employees to meet the needs of the role and the ability to work as a team.

Duties will also include, but are not limited to, bringing the deceased into our care, out of hours duties, driving our ceremonial vehicles, general workshop duties and updating mortuary records. To assist in cleaning duties/general housekeeping within both public and private areas of the funeral branches. Participation in the on-call out of hours rota is essential as is a full, clean UK driving licence.

A trainee candidate will progress in their development initially through in-house training, with an aim to later enrolling them on the relevant professional qualification courses.

Core working hours are 9.00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, Saturday working as required, on-call out of hours on a rota basis from any of our branches.

Salary will be based on experience
