The post is to provide classroom support in a KS1 class. St Oswald's is a small Catholic Primary School which is committed to raising standards of achievement. We need someone who will challenge and inspire our pupils and build on the nurturing environment in our school. We can offer a dedicated team of hard working, caring and committed staff. We are a warm, friendly school where children are at the heart of everything we do. We have happy and well behaved children who enjoy being at school. The successful candidate will:
  • Implement structured learning activities/ specific programmes for individuals and groups under the general supervision of the teacher.
  • Have a caring and compassionate nature
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils to promote pupil progress and attainment
  • Have experience of working in KS1
  • Do some 1:1 work with pupils
  • Experience of working with children with SEN is essential
  • Have experience of phonics
  • Have experience of running interventions
  • Establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers
  • Have high expectations of themselves and of others, demonstrating professional conduct at all times and have the ability to contribute positively to an effective team. The post is 31.5 hours per week (8:30am to 3:20pm), term time only plus 5 days for inset days. Please note that the salary quoted is full time equivalent, and salary will be paid on a pro rata basis. Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post.

Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment
  • Experience of working with children with SEN

  • Experience of working with or caring for children with Autism
  • Experience of working with children in Early Years
