Domiciliary Care Assistant

Job Title: Male Domiciliary Care Assistant

We require a male carer who meets the following requirements:

- support male with Autism to attend the community and the gym and swimming - this includes the male carer being able to complete exercises alongside the client in the gym. (Training on routines will be provided.)

- Schedule requires availability for: Tuesday, Wednesdays and Saturdays - times to be confirmed.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daytime Domiciliary Care Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality care to individuals in their own homes. As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting clients with their daily activities, enabling them to live independently and comfortably. Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care.
  • Mobility Support: Help clients with moving around the home, including transferring, repositioning, and using mobility aids.
  • Medication Assistance: Administer medications according to care plans, ensuring proper documentation and following safety procedures.
  • Meal Preparation: Assist with meal preparation, ensuring that clients have well-balanced meals and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Domestic Support: Provide light housekeeping services, such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and tidy home environment.
  • Social and Emotional Support: Engage in companionship and provide emotional support, helping to reduce loneliness and encourage mental well-being.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of the care provided, any changes in the client's condition, and follow care plans as instructed.
  • Health and Safety: Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff, including infection control practices.
  • Transport Assistance: Occasionally assist with transportation to appointments or activities when required.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2 years of previous experience in a care assistant role is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
  • Qualifications: A valid Care Certificate, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Skills: Ability to provide personal care and support clients with mobility, as well as basic domestic tasks.
  • Compassionate Nature: A kind and patient approach with a passion for supporting people to live independently.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with clients, families, and the care team effectively.
  • Driving License: A full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
  • Clear DBS Check: An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required prior to employment.
