Musical Director/Conductor - The Harmoneers Rock and Pop Choir

The Harmoneers are a thriving, all-inclusive local SATB rock, pop and modern music choir based in Leamington Spa in the heart of Warwickshire. We aspire to high standards in our performances and are now looking for a new enthusiastic, inspirational Musical Director to take over from our existing MD who will be ‘handing over his baton' in August. We are looking for someone who can build on the successes of the choir to date.

Our mixed ability choir was formed over 10 years ago and currently has over 50 members. Our substantial repertoire is wide ranging from the 60s up to current day and includes: musical theatre, classical rock, love ballads, power ballads, indie rock, soul, country, disco, folk, soft rock and progressive symphonic rock to name but a few.

The choir provides an opportunity to develop strong friendships and have a great time, together with the commitment and hard work of our members, all of whom are passionate about singing and are excited to develop the choir further under the guidance of a new leader.

Our rehearsals take place on a Monday evening from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in Cubbington. We aim to deliver at least 2 concerts per year, together with a range of social events in order to raise funds for local and National charities.

We are looking for an MD who is encouraging, innovative, patient and with a great sense of fun and who can develop and grow the choir, develop the groups sense of community and friendship, together with an artistic vision for the choir's future. An ability to provide accompaniment on occasion is desirable in the absence of our current accompanist.

The successful applicant will work closely with the committee during the planning stages and will conduct and introduce the choir at concerts.

The position is to commence in September .

This is a paid position based on a fee per rehearsal plus payment for concerts which will be discussed at interview.
