We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant to join our friendly professional team of Accountants and Bookkeepers based in Hove, East Sussex.
About the Role
You'll work with a wide variety of clients - from sole traders to limited companies - providing essential accounting and tax services. This is a hands-on role in a supportive and dynamic practice environment. As we have three offices across Sussex, there is plenty of opportunity to develop your career, progressing into a practice management role if wanted.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Complete VAT returns and bookkeeping using Xero
- Produce corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Completion of month end processes and preparation of management accounts
- Liaise directly with clients to collect information, provide updates and answer their queries
- Assist junior staff and contribute to team development
- Support the directors in overseeing workflow, staff coordination, and practice development
- Contribute to process improvement and implementation of best practices across the firm
What We're Looking For
- AAT qualified, or ACCA/ACA part-qualified or fully qualified
- 2+ years' experience in an accountancy practice (QBE considered)
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations
- Confident using cloud-based accounting software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, client-focused approach
- Ability to manage own workload and work independently
