WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is at the cutting edge of next generation propulsion systems delivery and an opportunity for an individual to develop and lead the team working in the stores and logistics side of the organisation as the backbone support of all our build operation activities across 2 sites and all our propulsion technologies. You will take overall accountability for our warehouse operation at Lyons Park and the kitting operations at Whitley you will also be responsible for the logistics operations across both areas.

One of our sites is a full external parts receiving location, the team there deal with the full end to end stores receiving, booking, storage and subsequent material distribution across our battery technologies. Being a battery store, there is a key focus on safe storage of dangerous goods and the ability to then ship dangerous goods classified material to other JLR and non JLR locations.

Our other logistics area is a high-volume turnover area with significant numbers of units moving through on a daily basis. This are involves bringing kits in from our central stores, validating these units and then shipping them to the line for build and then storing and distributing complete units.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take responsibility of the day-to-day management of the Lyons Park stores and Whitley Logistics area ensuring requirements and KPIs are met and maintained
• Manage the logistics and warehousing teams to ensure continued delivery of business objectives
• Manage the facilities to a safe set of working practices, driving standards in line with our zero-harm plan and in accordance with ISO standards in preparation for future external audits
• Ensure a robust set of processes are in place to ensure a standard service is delivered across both sites
• Work closely with internal customers to ensure smooth delivery of completed battery, engine and EDU units around the UK and rest of world
• Develop logistics capabilities in line with changing HV propulsion commodities with a particular focus on dangerous goods shipment regulations and supporting the teams in achieving required certifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Track record in operating safe working practices in a warehouse/logistics function
• Experience in logistics, warehousing and stock control
• Experience in right first-time delivery principles
• Experience in resource planning
• Experience in stock control systems (ideally GPIRS and SAP)
• Experience of stores management principles with significant emphasis on 5s operational standards
• Hold a full and valid driving licence to support across both sites
