Role Overview and Responsibilities: Introduction

Responsible for Leading the Planning team, SIOP process, and Master Production Scheduling to ensure on-time order fulfilment and realisation of site revenue, cash, inventory budgets, maintaining capacity planning tools, balancing demand planning with Supply planning, activation of MRP from receipt of orders from the sales team (in line with quoted expectations and estimates), maintaining the standard lead time for quotes and Order Intake, End of Month reporting related to delivery of customer sales orders including OTIF and arrears.

This role of the Planning Manager is based on site, coordinating with other site leaders and functions although some travel may be required to support Interco SIOP requirements. Requirements of the role
  • Ensuring the SIOP delivers accurate headcount, output, and financial plans, and the MPS delivers demand profiles inline with customer and business expectations including cashflow, revenue and profit requirements.
  • As part of the operational team participate in the maintenance & Display of operational KPIs & ensure these are always live & up to date
  • Champion the continuous improvement with lean activities & principles to gain further success in efficiencies, quality & employee engagement.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to by leading by example (role Modelling) managing formally & informally and monitoring teams' performance & formally at least twice a year by means of the TT Electronics performance system.
  • Working with the Head of Operations and Head of Supply Chain develop and implement the planning improvement program.
  • Liaise with CAM team to determine customer requirements.
  • Responsibility for Master Production Schedule in MRP ,
  • Updating ERP setting relating to inventory and managing stock levels, through RAW, FGS and WIP.
  • Establish strong relationships and provide world class levels of service to internal customers.
  • Drive improved performance based on measurable KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communications and processes both internally and externally.
  • Full ownership for the Sales, Inventory, and Operations planning process.
  • Always demonstrate safe behaviour and ensure yourself and others in your working areas are safe and not exposed to significant risk.
  • Maintain MRP to ensure alignment between material position and production capability/schedule.
  • Working with production engineering and production review production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and BOM accuracy.
  • Ensure correct setting of MRP planning parameters, maintenance of standard Leadtime in line with market and organisational needs.
  • Plan, coordinate and control interdepartmental activity within CAM, quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, production, and logistics related to SIOP, MPS and order fulfilment.
  • Establish efficient planning production systems to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Accountable for meeting Job delivery and Inventory targets
  • Review Portal download date changes and update jobs
  • Review shortages with purchasing
  • Manage MRP schedule messages.
  • Review internal and external holds on orders to expedite release.
  • Review outstanding Permits and concessions.
MPS and SIOP: The key accountabilities of the role are the professional running the site SIOP process to produce accurate headcount, output, and financial plans to support the business planning process. Leading the production planning team to manage the creation and execution of viable production plans in support of the SIOP plan. The nature of this role dictates the requirement to collaborate effectively with all areas of the business and the ability to be an effective communicator and influencer is a prerequisite for the role.
  • Owner of the SIOP process
  • Owner of the MPS
  • Integrating the forecast from Sales & Business Development into the demand plan for the business
  • Balancing the budget, forecast, and orderbook demand to create a supply plan monitoring the factory capacities, inventory & customer requirements.
  • Producing a master production schedule to control and pace both internal production and the external supply chain ensuring alignment between MPS and sales order/contract requirements.
  • Providing these analyses to the monthly SIOP process.
  • Running appropriate leading and lagging metrics on demand and supply to allow business performance to be monitored and guiding the business in appropriate decision making.
  • Establish appropriate planning parameters for different classes of product to ensure demand, supply and inventory are appropriately managed.
  • Conduct material availability analysis for proposed schedule changes
  • Monitor material budget vs actual performance

  • Proactive change management experience
  • A strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel is essential to this role.
