396959 Global Congressing Manager
The Global Congressing Manager role is established within Medical Affairs Excellence (MAE) and reports to the Head, Global Congressing Team. The Global Congressing Manager is responsible for ensuring successful delivery of an enterprise One GSK approach to congressing across priority global congresses.
The Global Scientific Congressing Team was created in 2023 to evolve thinking from asset based to disease-based approach, and the global congressing manager will typically be experienced in medical affairs, direct to healthcare provider (HCP) experience, digitally minded, innovative with good project management and networking skills.
The Global Congressing Team goals are to;
- Amplify our medical presence by showing up as a OneGSK enterprise (driving deeper understanding and engagement with our science).
- Improve the customer experience and make it live beyond the congress using data, insights and innovative approaches to engagement.
- Deliver medical leadership and consistent excellence in congressing across the organisation

In this role you will
- Implement Congress Strategy: oversee 3-5 year congress planning, cross-TA Congress Objectives and Priorities, Congress User Journeys, LOC Co-creation, Compliance Framework, Society Relationship Management and External Comms Plans (e.g. social media plan)
- Congress Content: provide input and advise on Above Brand Content, Medical Booth Content, User journey content (e.g. E-mails, banners, advertising, flyers) and Post-congress LOC resources (e.g. scientific reports, videos, publication summaries etc. and Medical Portal Content
- Medical Activities: Lead on Medical Booth Strategy, Design & Approval, Booth Innovation and Engagement Planning, Booth Staffing & Training, One GSK Symposia Plan, EE Plans, Virtual Booth and Congress microsites
- Congress Plan Management: Project Management, Congress Team Comms Cell Leadership, Budget Management, Complaints Management, Vendor Management, Internal Engagement and Logistical Organisation
Why you?
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor's degree in science related field or medical/pharmacy degree
- Significant and varied experience working in medical affairs
- Extensive experience overseeing and implementing medical congress strategy, congress content & congress plan management
- Experience with Copy Approval requirements and management of risk
- Ability to travel 20% or more to domestic and international Medical Congresses
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

- Knowledge of GSK Code & ABPI and its application
- Excellent understanding of medical functions and medical affairs activities
