Job description
The project ‘Recognising the Risks and Harms for Repeat Missing Children from Different Residential Environments through a Child and Practitioner Lens' will seek to co-create interventions to reduce repeat missing episodes. This will include considering risks and harms, the impact of different residential environments (e.g., foster care, with parents/guardians), sociodemographic factors (e.g., race, age, gender), and personal needs (e.g., mental health, disabilities, learning differences).
As a multi-phased project this will incorporate practitioner experiences and children's reflections on being “missing” to the interventions and the project will engage focus groups with practitioners and adopt a Participatory Action Research and Reflection (PARR) approach, analysed through conversation and thematic analysis. Undertaking this work will involve working with partners across North and South Yorkshire, culminating in co-created materials with children and practitioners to provide a framework of support, inform practice, and reduce repeat missing episodes.
The postholder will be involved in organising and facilitating interviews and focus groups with external practitioners; transcription and analysis (qualitative and quantitative) of this data; and support the undertaking of a scoping literature review. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods is the key skill required.
Hours of work will average 10.5 hours per week, with working days/hours to be agreed with the line manager. Working days will be flexible, and the number of actual hours in different weeks may be subject to project need.
This department is located at Leeds Trinity University campus Horsforth, Leeds. Through our agile working framework, there will be the option to work remotely, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
The advert for this role will close as soon as we receive a suitable number of applications with interviews expected to take place in late June.
