Sainsburys Bank - Financial Reporting Assistant Manager Why join us Joining us as a Financial Reporting Assistant Manager offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of our Edinburgh based Financial and Regulatory Reporting team, where you will contribute to the accurate and timely production of IFRS Financial Statements and be responsible for monthly financial control activities. What you'll do As a Financial Reporting Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team to ensure effective financial processes and controls are in place for the accurate production of financial reporting outputs. Your primary responsibility will assisting the Financial Reporting Manager in the preparation of the Bank's IFRS Financial Statements and supporting the external audit process, ensuring compliance with relevant financial reporting standards. You may assist in managing and communicating key accounting judgements. You will also be responsible for the financial control activities for specific products or services, including operational documentation and payments, journal preparation, balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation controls. Furthermore, you will contribute to the production of disclosures and analysis for inclusion in the Bank's monthly management accounts and group consolidation packs. A key aspect of your role will involve identifying opportunities for process improvements, to design and implement financial processes and controls in support of business change initiatives, driving increased efficiency within the team. To excel in this position, you will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and have excellent attention to detail. Your proficiency in PC skills, particularly Excel, will be important, and previous exposure to Oracle General Ledger would be advantageous but not essential. As a highly organised individual, you will be able to manage your workload effectively within tight deadlines and work well under pressure. Collaboration is essential in this role, so being an excellent team player with strong relationship management skills will be crucial. Strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. Who you are As a Financial Reporting Assistant Manager, you are a detail-oriented and highly analytical professional with excellent problem solving skills who plays a crucial role in supporting the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team. With your strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail, you ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting submissions, maintaining high standards and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. Knowledge of IFRS will be highly beneficial. Your experience in finance operations, reporting, and control, gained either in industry or practice, has equipped you with the skills to support the financial close process, prepare journal entries, and assist in the reconciliation of balance sheets. With your strong PC skills, particularly in Excel, and ability to prioritise and work under pressure, you contribute to process improvements and are able to deliver results as an excellent team player. Your written and verbal communication skills, as well as your relationship management skills, enable effective collaboration and support the preparation of financial statements and external audits.
