Our new opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an IT Support role (Help Desk & On-Site) to join the existing team. This is an entry-level role and would suite a recent graduate or someone with technical proficiency supporting in a Windows environment. Excellent customer service is also essential.

As IT Support you will be responsible for providing our internal stakeholders with timely, high quality IT support, finding solutions to problems which arise and ensuring the day-to-day maintenance of our IT systems.

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational and time management skills, the ability to plan and prioritise tasks and who communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals. A positive attitude and good work ethic are a must. While you will be working independently, using your own initiative and taking a proactive approach, you will also be part of a team and therefore effective team working is essential.

The successful candidate is likely to have an HNC or equivalent qualification in an IT related discipline. Ideally, previous experience in a similar role, particularly in the manufacturing industry would be desirable. The role itself is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and will report directly into the Head of IT and Business Systems.

Although the role is mainly site based across two sites in West Lothian (e.g. Russell House and Broxburn Bottlers), we do operate business over multiple sites in Scotland (Broxburn, Edinburgh, Falkirk, North Glasgow and Speyside). It is therefore essential that the successful candidate holds a full UK driving licence to provide contingency support elsewhere on site as required and can provide remote support to other sites as applicable.

Some of the day-to-day activities will include

  • Provision of timely support to the business, taking ownership of front-line IT queries and problems
  • Recording and updating incidents, problems, questions & tasks in real time and fully documenting solutions
  • Liaising with 3rd party IT suppliers where required
  • Undertaking root cause analysis to identify and then resolve where applicable, issues with IT equipment
  • Proactively recommending the replacement of IT equipment as required
  • Setupinstallation of new equipment
  • Awareness of security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Support with project work as required and as directed by IT Support Team Leader
  • Maintenance of comms cabinets, WIFI access points (please note, this will occasionally involve working at heights)

Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they currently have the required documents to live and work in the UK.
