THE ROLE

Job Introduction

The BBC Finance team in Cardiff delivers an integrated, sustainable and high quality accounting and reporting service to our business and Finance customers across the whole of the BBC.

We are seeking an Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent opportunity within the Content FP&A team based in Cardiff with some flexibility, i.e. hybrid working.

The Content division consists of TV, Sport, Children's & Education and Radio and therefore is at the heart of the BBC's offer to audiences. Due to the relatively large FP&A team, this role enables the successful candidate to work well with others and will be able to benefit from an excellent team ethic.

Main Responsibilities

As an Accountant you will:

• Undertake the monthly reporting of financial performance, in addition to other reporting to stakeholders
• Devise and manage appropriate reporting models and templates that provide insightful and relevant analysis, suitable for decision making
• Take responsibility of month end and annual accounting processes, managing this from start to end and working with a range of stakeholders
• Provide professional financial support to a range of stakeholders, effective control of financial processes and delivering operational excellence.

Are you the right candidate?

You will have strong analytical skills and be fully qualified with a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA). Financial Reporting and/or management accounting knowledge and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, both within Finance Central and with the other divisions is especially important in this role. You will be required to operate independently but effective team playing is also important due to the nature and size of the Finance team.

Package Description

Band: D Contract type: Permanent Location: Cardiff based role with some flexibility - i.e. hybrid working Salary: £47,000 to £50,000pa, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
