Job Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant Cook to join our team in a bustling day nursery setting. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation and food safety practices to deliver high-quality home cooked food.
Responsibilities:
- Support the head cook and in preparing and cooking dishes.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Follow food safety standards during all stages of food preparation.
- Help with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, and preparing sauces.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable.
- Familiarity with basic culinary techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from senior kitchen staff.
