In order to strengthen our Financial Hub in Witham we are looking for a: GL Accounting Expert

As a GL Accounting Expert you will play a crucial role in managing the complex accounting needs of the R2R Accounting Operations space. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to assume an expert role, guiding and mentoring accounting personnel on the required processes. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for reviewing financial data and providing insightful analysis to company executives. Your ability to communicate financial strategies effectively will contribute to informed decision-making and the overall success of the organization.

We will count on you to:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the R2R processes
• Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of account reconciliations, journal entries, and provide comprehensive balance sheet analyses
• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the R2R function and related reports
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
• Take an active role in participating and leading projects that have an impact on the Accounting Operations and its processes
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing the internal control environment, including strict adherence to SOX controls and external audit procedures
• Ensure that daily management activities are conducted in full compliance with internal and external control requirements
• Adhere to accounting principles, practices, and regulatory guidelines, and ensure their consistent application in daily work
• Respond promptly and effectively to ad hoc requests for financial information and provide insightful operational analysis using a variety of reporting tools, in line with our global business standards

What you need to have:

• A minimum of 4-5 years' experience in a large shared services or financial management environment, with particular focus on experience in general ledger
• Working knowledge of ERP Accounting systems e.g. Oracle Financials
• A University degree in the field of finance, accounting, or economics or recognized Accounting qualification e.g....
• The right to work in the UK
