WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR's drive to deliver Modern Luxury and therefore the regressive design aspiration, our Manufacturing standards, and with it our ability to meet the ever changing processes required to deliver them, there is a need for Technical Specialists within GME to focus on the Joining and Sealing aspects of this.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the future company strategy for processes, equipment, and systems for the industrialisation aspirations in joining processes and techniques in JLR

  • Act as the ultimate internal escalation point for joining process issues and development

  • Become the key interface to both the Product Engineers and the Manufacturing Teams, to develop JLR's Joining and Sealing methodology including, but not constrained to Mechanical, Resistance and Adhesive applications

  • Have full responsibility for the creation and maintenance of all best practices and guideline master documents and make this knowledge accessible to off and on cycle teams

  • Lead, with PE collaboration, the development of the roadmap which defines future system selection and application including patentable technology to give JLR a competitive edge

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Extensive background within Joining Technology

  • Preffered current Chartered Professional Accreditation such as a Masters

  • Extensive leadership experience

  • Joining Development background and knowledge within the space

  • Experience in providing technical leadership to engineering programs & processes
