At Smart Dental Academy we are constantly seeking to improve and provide the best possible training for our apprentices. We have recently completely revamped our training model leading to another exciting opportunities for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated individual, able to work on their own initiative and also within a team, to join our Smart Dental Academy family.

Our new delivery model has split the “Tutor/Assessor” role, into 2 separate roles “Tutor” and “Assessor”, i.e the tutors will predominately “Teach” in one of our 4 academies, located in Blackburn, Liverpool and 2 in Manchester and the assessors will visit the learners in practice, throughout the same 4 areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coaching and mentoring of apprentices studying the Level 3 Dental Nurse Extended Diploma and Level 2 Functional skills in Mathematics.

The tutor post will require you to plan and deliver teaching and learning that engages and challenges learners to develop new skills, behaviours, and knowledge. The theoretical knowledge will be delivered in a classroom-based environment. As an assessor you will be required to visit learners in practice to carry out workplace observations and performance reviews, throughout the Northwest of England and therefore a full driver’s licence is essential.

You may be required to cover both roles, to meet the needs of the business.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in the role of a dental nurse and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).

They will hold a relevant assessors award (TAQA/A1/CAVA) and tutoring (AET) qualification or be working towards them. We may consider this as a trainee post, full support will be provided, though the cost of both courses, will be the responsibility of the candidate.

The successful candidate will require excellent communication, organisational, I.T and administrative skills, along with excellent time management skills.

The position is full time – Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00.

Appointments are subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced discloser from the discloser and barring service (DBS) and suitable references from your previous employer.
