Job Responsibility:

Summary

Missional University seeks an experienced Instructional Design Manager who works directly with faculty to build and produce online courses and material including advising faculty in the selection of appropriate media and presentation tools and methods. The specialist will consult with faculty, recommend media and tools, and advise on multimedia production issues. The specialist is responsible for developing and delivering technical training to online faculty in the use of tools for teaching distance learning classes using the Moodle learning management system. The specialist is also responsible for ensuring course development adheres to the Quality Matters set of standards in online course development.

With skills in writing and copy editing, graphic design, audio and video editing and production, and academic course development, the ideal candidate will be able to coach faculty in the creation of compelling learning materials designed for evangelical Christian students across the globe.

To accomplish the tasks, the person will need a deep rooted understanding of messaging for multi-ethnic, global, evangelical Christian audiences, a firm grasp of educational technology, and demonstrated intercultural communication skills.

The position requires the ability to dive in with little supervision, work thru the creative process with faculty and arrive at final online course materials that exceed quality and technological expectations.

The ideal candidate has experience in higher educational technology in a university or theological institution with excellent interpersonal communication skills and the requisite technical skills to accomplish the objectives. The ideal candidate will work online, must be fluent in English and have a stable internet connection, their own computer and needed software.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in instructional technology or educational technology.
• At least 3 years of educational technology experience in a college, university or theological institution
• At least 5 years of experience in creative graphic design and multimedia
• Proven experience working with faculty in creating materials for college-level online academic courses
• Broad knowledge of instructional technology tools and their use in teaching and learning
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of interactive web and media based technologies; multimedia authoring/production software/tools including but not limited to screen casting, graphic design and video applications
• Ability to think creatively, collaboratively and strategically
• Ability to relate interculturally to ethnically diverse backgrounds globally
• A vibrant Christian testimony
• Practical missions experience in his/her own country of origin or beyond
