What you'll be responsible for:

  • Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight.
  • Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing.
  • Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You'll have the following qualification/experience:

All Care support worker roles will be required to provide evidence of completing the Care Certificate or a relevant qualification. Evidence accepted includes:

  • Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks' clinical placements.
  • Care Certificate from an NHS Organisation
  • QCF Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services - issued after 2011
  • QCF Level 2 OR above Diploma in Health & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support - issued after 2011
  • QCF Level 3 OR above Diploma in Healthcare Support or Maternity & Paediatric Support - issued after 2011 (For Paediatric & Maternity roles only)
  • Degree /Diploma in Nursing and currently do not have an NMC Registration.
  • Minimum of 6 months Acute HCSW UK (Private, NHS or Armed Forces) hospital/hospice experience within the last 2 years.

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
