Life can be tough when a military career comes to an end, especially if it has been cut short by illness or injury. Overnight, people lose not only their job, but also a support network that is like family. There are many ways we help veterans, their relatives, serving personnel, and people who worked alongside the UK military. We help people with their physical and mental health needs, and a range of welfare issues. Our support gives people the skills, confidence and knowledge to make a success of life after service.
And who are we you're wondering? We are experts and beginners. Generalists and specialists. Ordinary people with an extraordinary passion towards making a positive change to the lives of our veterans (and having fun while doing it).
As One Team we share a philosophy - I.C.A.R.E. It's the way we walk and talk, the way we interact with others and how we approach everything we do. We are:
Innovative - Collaborative - Authentic - Resourceful - Energetic.
We have an incredible opportunity for a Volunteer Team Administrator to join our team.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Administrator to join our new Volunteer Team. Are you an organised Administrator with experience of working in a complex organisation? Do you have excellent customer service skills and a passion for supporting members of the Armed Forces Community? Previous experience of working with volunteers and/or being a volunteer would be a bonus.
You'll be happy to work from home for 3 days per week, and at our Head Office in Downton for the other 2 days. You'll also need to travel for other organisational commitments including inductions, training, events, and team meetings which may require some overnight stays.
About the Role
The Volunteer Team Administrator will be responsible for supporting the efficient and effective recruitment, onboarding, management, and engagement of volunteers. This will include dealing with volunteer enquiries, onboarding new volunteers (including compliance checks), helping at events, and providing general admin to the Volunteer Team. They'll also be a super user of our new Volunteer Management System, supporting others in its use.
About the Team
Help for Heroes is creating a new Volunteer Team to support the delivery of our new Volunteer Framework. We're a small but ambitious team working closely with other teams across the charity to recruit, manage and engage volunteers. If you'd like to join a team that is excited to improve and grow our current volunteering programme, to support more members of the Armed Forces Community, this could be the role for you.
About UsHelp for Heroes believes those who serve our country deserve support when they're wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. The Charity helps them, and their families, to recover and get on with their lives. It has already supported more than 26,500 people and won't stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve.
